Live Streaming Explained
A live streaming service allows you to stream in real-time as your webcast is being produced.
In order to webcast a live streaming event, you will need the necessary equipment at the site you are webcasting from. This can be anything from a home computer with a webcam and a modem connection to state of the art video production equipment with a satellite uplink.
The raw output from your camera(s) is input to a computer with encoding software/hardware which compresses the data produced and relays it to our streaming servers.
When our streaming servers receive this single pre-encoded data stream, they then redistribute it to individuals requesting the live stream through a website, based anywhere in the world. The webcast can be viewed instantly without having to download it first, by clicking on a hyperlink.
Also, content is viewed without having to be downloaded first - simply clicking on a hyperlink in the web page will start the video playing almost immediately.

On demand streaming is the term given to video or audio streams that have been pre-recorded and are available for visitors to play whenever they want, by simply clicking on a website hyperlink.
