ABC stands for 'Always be closing'! It's an 'old school' phrase which reminds us that the point when you actually ask a customer to part with their cash is like the full stop at the end of a sentence! You lead up to it by starting to build credibility with your viewers, then continue by describing your product's most impressive features and benefits.

Features and benefits: People don't buy a drill just because they want to own a drill! They buy a drill because they want to make holes! And they may want to make holes for a number of reasons: to put screws or dowelling in, to let water out, to let them see through something... anything, really; you may never know! But when you sell, you have to present the features of a product ("The drill is fast") alongside a benefit ("so you can get more done in less time"). There are also advantages to consider - what is the advantage of using the product? Now try to picture your product in your mind and answer these questions:

FEATURES         What is the product?
BENEFITS           What are the main benefits of using it?
ADVANTAGES   What is the added value and / or intangible benefits of the product?
Easy? How easily were you able to picture the benefits of your product? Many people struggle to see them clearly - and yet that's the key to selling: getting your customers to see the benefits and value! DRTV will help your viewers:
